Overview:

Sainsburys have invested in electrical charge points for some of their refrigerated trailer fleet, this is due to working towards net zero and rising cost of diesel as trailers can switch between diesel and electric for loading operation.

PCI was awarded the contract to install the electrical infrastructure to power multiple charge points throughout various site up and down the UK. We installed triple and parallel SWA supply cables back to main transformer switch rooms and connected them to new MCCB’s.

For local connection PCI installed panel boards and sub distribution boards to supply trailer sockets, from the D/B we installed SWA local circuits to power each individual loading and parking bays.

Challenge:

To carry out final connections PCI arranged with Sainsburys specific time site outages to install new MCCB’s in switchroom panel-board. We had specific time deadlines to adhere to when powering down site.
