Jaguar Halewood

Project Details:

Overview:

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) invested £500m in its Halewood plant on Merseyside to bolster future production of all-electric cars at the site. With the company aiming to become carbon net zero by 2039

Beck & Pollitzer where one of the main contractors awarded the contract to install robot cells as part of this investment.

PCI where awarded the electrical installation works from Beck & Pollitzer to install main containment and field wiring from control panels to various robot cells.

Working with E-plan schematic drawings, we installed various multicore cables including YY, SY, beldon, cat5e, cat6 and robot umbilical cables back to panels and robot controllers.

Some specialist cables require specific glanding and termination procedure to conform with installation standards. PCI employees were required to carry out all robot cell connections in control panels and field equipment.

Challenges:

Due to ongoing schematic drawing changes PCI electricians had to understand complex eplan drawing to undertake alterations to field wiring and termination of cables.
